Its a sad fact Chris, but you are correct.

Its a nice change to be living in a country where 'hunting' is not a dirty word.

Compaired to New Zealand, we, the Australian hunter, has no profile.

No, 'Oooo's' or 'Ahhh's' or 'Really?' when you say you hunt or , God forbid, say that you have taken your child hunting, in NZ.

I see adults here taking up the sport. Women no less!

A women through the dog club here, in her thirties, has taken up 'Duck hunting'.

Whats better, is that when she goes.....she takes her mother.....and she enjoys it as well.

Who would have thought that you could actually enjoy hunting....go figure.

Clubs, Magazines, Blogs and hunters need to band together and do a complete re-vamp of the Aussie's hunting image.

At the moment, too few are doing too much for too many.

A bloke i know bought one from a bargain bin not long ago.I was spewing i didnt find it first.Only he didnt know what it was.Once i told him he wouldnt sell it hahahhaha.

If they set up such a scheme in NSW I would get paid twice for what I shoot

I reckon the number of skins payed out on in VIC would drop significantly if they started paying in NSW.

I have left the original scope on there wharf, it shoots great as it is and after getting Shane to do a trigger job on the little sweatheart I see no reason to alter anything else.

That scope is worth good coin and is what brno originally fitted to their rifles.

Are we the only country or state that is suffering dry times?

It is only the anti hunting bureaucrats and animal libbers who use these statistics to push for NO SEASONS.

Forget the science, this is a totally political decision and no matter what the politicians have said in the past, the government's decision will be based on politics and who does the best lobbying.

Unfortunately, most hunters don't give a shit about politics and will not back up their organisations with letter writing or visiting their local politician.

Is it any wonder we have not had a Duck season for 945 days and that the Long Nosed Freckled Fibber has announced that Victoria had its last duck season in 2006.

We would need an above average rain fall till christmas.November and December are usually quite wet times of the year.Duck numbers are on the rise again at the moment,with plenty of hatches seen on lakes and private dams.Certainly a season on wood duck should be called.No shortage of them around.

Is anyone able to confirm the rumor that a few years ago a certain large nosed Australian animal libber visited the sunny shore of New Zealand with an underhanded motive?

While in NZ, it is said, that a policeman, while walking along a road discovered a strange smell, similar to that of something dead, permeating from the boot of a vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that the boot of the said vehicle contained numerous deceased, protected birds in it.

To add to the mystery, the discovery was made approximately 2 weeks prior to the NZ duck opening.

The individual, to whom the said vehicle was in the name of, who had a large nose and facial hair, was charged with being in position of protected species and subsequently prosecuted. It was also thought by the NZ court that given the individuals history in Australia, that these protected birds were going to be possibly used for the purposes of discrediting law abiding waterfowl hunters. This was obviously denied.

When this said criminal then tried to enter NZ at a latter date, again just prior to the NZ duck season, his entry was denied on the grounds that he had a conviction.

As a result he was asked to leave the country�.immediately.

I would really love it if someone could confirm this one.
